Enter Stage Right was founded in 1994 in Thames Ditton. As we already had a good reputation we were asked to start our Saturday classes at The Thorndike Theatre now the Leatherhead Theatre in the September of 2002. We have been running classes and shows here ever since.
We currently have 4 regular teachers working with children from 3yrs – 18yrs. We also invite guest producers and people from the profession to come in and enthuse the students.
Claire Malcomson founded Enter Stage Right and is our Principal. She takes an active role teaching the children but also is available to talk with parents about upcoming Enter Stage Right Productions and initiatives. And works with the students on a one to one basis.
Claire is also a trained actress after having attended Lamda for 3 years. Her last Television Role was on Channel 4 in a drama playing Gillian Taylforth.
Elisa Hynes is our resident Dance Teacher. She teaches all the dance classes. Elisa attended Laines in Epsom and teaches in many local schools, including Downsend and St Peter’s. She has been with ESR since 2002.
Emily Razzell is our Drama Teacher. She trained in Drama and Education at Roehampton and has in the past helped with productions at local junior and secondary schools. Emily has been part of ESR for 4 years.
All of the children are encouraged to blossom and are never pushed into doing anything they don’t want to do. We like to ‘Bring Out The Best’.
Every member of the Enter Stage Right team shares the philosophy of fun learning and positive encouragement.
We offer much more than just Drama, Dance & Singing we offer the chance for your child to increase their confidence levels, work in a team along other children with the same interests and advise them if they wish to take performing to the next level.
ESR students have gone on to study at specific Drama and Dance academies. A number of our children past and present have been involved with professional productions such as appearing on the CBBC programme Xchange, getting to the final 3 in the auditions for Harry Potter and appearing onstage in professional theatre productions.
We encourage all prospective students to trial our classes before committing to a term of lessons.
